Gingerbread Man

We decided to try curly hair today. I think it worked out pretty well.
Brooklyn with Hannah. They are becoming good little friends. Brooklyn is only in the 10th percentile for her height.(You can't tell right?)
Here is a video of her telling me what she did today. She later told me the cookie was a gingerbread man.

Fun hair and friends

I once read this blog where they posted a picture on there blog each day for a whole year. I want to do something like that with Brooklyn and Trace but just for the school year. I also want to try to do all sorts of different hairstyles on Brooklyn that I will be posting too.
Here is today's hair do! Tyler asked me if she was going to Prom not Kindergarten.
I love this outfit on her! This is one I wish came in my size!
Today I was able to take her to the bus stop and watch her climb on. I wanted to drive her to and from school this year but she really likes the bus and her new friend Hannah rides it with her.
I almost cried watching her climb onto the bus. I should be done crying right? It's day three of Kindergarten!!
I thought this is a fun short clip of her running off the bus! She is really starting to like going to school and is making new friends!

The wheels on the bus

Tyler and I have decided to have Brooklyn ride the bus on days that I have to work. Tyler only has his work car and isn't suppose to drive with anyone in it. Today was her first day. I made this tag to put on her backpack so the teacher knows what days to put Brooklyn on the bus.
Tyler did a pretty good job on getting her ready and with taking pictures! These two little adorable girls are the only two that ride the bus in the afternoon.
Tyler said when she got home she told him she wanted to ride the bus everyday to school. She really likes her new bus friend. (Hannah) I am so glad she feels confident enough to ride the bus. It makes me want to cry. She is growing up way too fast! I also signed her up for dance and tumbling today. I will keep you all updated on if she likes it or not!

First Day of Kindergarten

Today was the day!

Our sweet little Brookie started Kindergarten. Last night while getting her into bed she started to cry. (Made us cry too.) We asked her what was wrong and she kept saying she was scared. "I'm scared I wont have any friends." It broke our hearts. We said special prayer together and she prayed that she would have friends.
After I got off work this morning I hurried home to get her ready. The second I got home she started saying, "I don't want to go! I'm not going. I want to stay home!" I tried over and over to convince her that it would be fun and that she would make friends.

Once we arrived at school the parents had to say their goodbyes. Brooklyn started to cry and wouldn't let go of me.  I tried so hard to hold it together. The teacher came over and tried to talk to her. Brooklyn reached for my hand and her teacher took it instead. Leaving her crying like that was one of the hardest things for me to do. I cried and prayed she would be okay.

At 3:15 Trace and I headed to pick her up. I was excited to hear about her day! When I arrived Brooklyn was no where to be found. The teacher made a mistake and put her on the bus! Thankfully I was able to get to her in time. She had a smile on her face!  After school we headed to the store and bought frosting and sprinkles to make cake batter pancakes. (It was the closest thing to a cookie I could make without having an oven.) Hopefully tomorrow goes well. She will be riding the bus.

I recorded a video of her first day. I asked her how it went and this is the response I got. She is so cute!

Kindergarten Assessment

Today Brooklyn had her Kindergarten assessment. I was pretty nervous for her to go to it. I haven't always been the best at teaching her letters and numbers but preschool has been. She learned so much in preschool and it prepared her for Kindergarten pretty well. She did great in her assessment. I couldn't be more proud! She counted to twenty and didn't skip one number!

I really like Brooklyn's teacher. I think she will do a great job with her. I am excited for her to start but I am also sad. I love that she is growing up into this wonderful little girl.. but I already miss her being little. Thankfully she only goes half day (12:30-3:15.) She can still be my little helper a home. I don't know what I will do when she goes all day next year!

Ps. Trace keeps asking over and over.. "When do I go to school?" "Where is my school?" "Are we going to my school?" He starts Sept 3rd and he is excited!!

Back to school night.

Brooklyn had back to school night this past Monday. She played the game "I Spy." and had find places like (I Spy...)
-The restroom
-The classroom
-The office
-The coat racks.
I think it was a fun way for her to be able to find he way around the school.
