Feeling festive.

I COULDN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!! Today was the first day that I had Brooklyn wear a Halloween shirt and did her hair festive. I am going to try for once a week until Halloween. I think it turned out pretty fun!
Today Trace had to wear white to school. They are working on colors and Trace is doing pretty good on knowing all of them. We still have a few to work on. He still gets so excited to go to school. I really wish he could go more often since he loves it so much!
This is how it is every time we pick him up. So excited to show us his school work!

homework.. homework.. and more homework!

I think Brooklyn get sick of doing homework. We seriously spend about an hour each night on homework. She works so hard and her letters look great but when she comes home with papers she did at school her letters go back to the way she did them before. To be fair.. they are getting better and I know with practice she will get the hang of it. Any one have any good ways to help her memorize sight words?

Celebrating Ten Years

NOTHING TO DO WITH THE KIDS SCHOOL BUT WORTH SHARING!
For our date night tonight we decided to go back to where it all began. Lagoon!
So technically it all start online but this is where it really all started on October 4th 2003. I met Tyler and his cousin Matt at Lagoon. I can't believe it's been ten years. Even though we aren't big fans of Lagoon.. I am glad we returned to celebrate!
During the month of October they decorate Lagoon all Scary. They call it "Frightmares."
We rode as many rides as our stomachs could handle.(We are ten years older now.. and we could feel it!) It was pretty cold but it was so much fun.
We had a blast. I haven't laughed so hard for a while. I don't think I stopped smiling until I had to paid the babysitter for the EIGHT hours of babysitting she did!
At night they have creepy people walking around and fog everywhere. It's a pretty fun atmosphere. I am so blessed I met my best friend ten years ago. He is so good to me and I love him so much!

Sick Day

Today marks the day that I met Tyler at Lagoon ten years ago! We decided to take Brooklyn out of school for a "sick day" to celebrate.(She actually really was coughing pretty good and had a runny nose.)I went to Brookie's school to turn in her homework and picked up next weeks. Our plan was to try Lagoon again or the Zoo. We ended up going to Nickelcade, The Pizza Pie Cafe, and then to watch the BYU game. It was a great family day and I am so glad/blessed that I met my best friend in person at Lagoon ten years ago! He and the kids are the best part of my life!
Just some of our fun BYU pictures. Trace got this shirt with the gift card he got from Grammie. Thanks Grammie!!

Loving the pizza before the game. He loves BYU! Go Blue!

Thank you Grammie!

Since it was my first day of October with the kids we made pumpkin pancakes! I think the kids favorite breakfast is pancakes. We have them almost every day.
The kids and I went shopping with the gift card they got from Grammie. Brooklyn saw this sweatshirt and wanted it so bad. She looks pretty darn cute in it! Thanks Grammie!
We didn't carpool today but Brooklyn was still able to find Hannah before school to play. Hannah and Hannah's cousin Tyler are Brooklyn's best friends.
Trace was excited to go to school today. He loves to show me everything she did at school right when I pick him up.  I walked to pick him up and decided to go for a walk. It was a pretty chilly walk and it actually snowed a bit on our walk! Trace was still all smiles though.

First day of Carpooling

Today was the first day of carpooling. Tyler just had to get Brooklyn ready and Hannah's mom picked her up and dropped her off. I am sure it's nice for Tyler to not have to take her on Wednesdays.

Tuesday October 1st

I can't believe today was the first of October! For some reason we didn't take any pictures of the kids today. They are both doing great. With Brooklyn they send homework each week. We work about an hour on it each night starting Friday night and we still barely make the deadline on the next Friday. It's a good thing we work an hour each night and not leave it all for the last minute. We wouldn't get it all done. Trace is working on letters and numbers. He knows 1-15 and is trying to learn the alphabet song. They are so excited that its the month of Trick or Treating!
