Mr. mom and first day at dance class

Today was Brookie's day at school. We had to make a poster and answer some questions about her. Here are her answers:
My name is: Brooklyn Leighann Ziegler
I am: 5 years old
My birthday is: May 22nd, 2008 (she didn't really know this one.)
My favorite thing to eat is: Nachos and strawberries
My favorite color is: Pink and purple
I love to: Color, play with my brother, and go to Disneyland.
Names of my family are: Tyler, Kenzie, and Trace
Something special you should know about me is: I love to sing and dance to my favorite Disney songs.
We tried to make her poster match some of her answers.
She had to bring her poster, a treat for the class, and three rectangular prisms.(The shape they learned today) We didn't prepare as well as we should have the night before. We did her poster.. but this morning I had to go to Walmart at 4am before work to get her treats since Tyler only has his cop car. he also had to get BOTH kids in the tub and get them BOTH ready! He did such a great job! Doesn't she look so cute? He also had to get the rectangular prisms ready.
He came up with awesome rectangular prisms! :) A lot better than the ones I suggested doing. He is completely Mr. Mom on Tuesdays with all he has to do! I am so thankful for him.

Trace is loving school still and he loves talking about "miz ginny" (Ms Jenny)
I had to pick Brooklyn up from school today to get her to dance on time. Today was her first day. It will be interesting to see how much she likes or dislikes it.
She likes it! Especially because her friend from her old preschool class is there.
This is one of the moves she learned. Don't you love the tongue sticking out? She also showed he all the other moves she learned today. I had to have her do them again for video! (it was just too cute I had to share!)

Minnie Mouse Day

Today we tried a Minnie Mouse hair do! I think it turned out cute and it only took about fifteen minutes!

Sunday School

Lately I have been reading ways to help children learn at home. One way was just letting them help you with every day chores and activities. Today the kids woke up way early and so we decided to make pancakes!
To help Trace learn his colors we decided to make colorful pancakes. He was able to name the colors and it was so fun for the kids.
It was a really fun activity for the three of us to share. I feel like its moments like this at 6:30 am on a rainy morning that they will remember making pancakes with mom.
Our rainbow on a cloudy and rainy day!
Trace called the "Buue one and geeen one"
Brooklyn decided she wanted a pancake sandwich with yummy syrup in the middle.

It's Friday!!

Since Brooklyn started school I have been checking her backpack daily for homework. I haven't seen any until today! She came home with a backpack full of homework, a book catalog, and stuff for her to sale. She will have homework given to her each Friday and has to have it completed by the following Friday. She also has to log into the computer and track her reading minutes.
This is one of my most favorite pictures. Tyler is helping Brookie with her homework. I love the expression on her face as she looks to her daddy to teach her! I see this picture and realize how truly blessed my life is! I don't always realize it and sometimes take it for granted. I am glad there are little reminders in every day life that remind me of how blessed I am. I just have to make sure I see those little reminders!

Hour to myself

Today I took Trace to school at 11:15 then I dropped Brooklyn off at the bus stop at noon. I had from noon to 1:15 to myself. It was kind of weird but nice.
I love that he gets so excited to go to school.
I think today at school will be one of Trace's favorites. He learned about trains and the teacher gave him a train whistle. He kept saying he wanted to go back to school. I wish he could go for more than two days a week. Just because he enjoys it so much!

Daddy hair do day

I had to work again and I forgot to put Brooklyn's hair in french braids.(I usually do so when Tyler takes them out her hair is curly and all he has to do is put a bow in.) Tyler called me at work and didn't know what to do about her hair. I told him to try a ponytail.
When I got home from work I saw that Brooklyn's hair was washed and straightened. I asked her who did her hair. "Daddy did!" I couldn't believe it! It actually looked like I did it! I asked Tyler how he knew what to do. He told me he copied what he sees me do with my straightener. He did so well and she looked so cute!  I was way impressed!

First day of Preschool!

Trace had his first day of Preschool on September 3rd, 2013. I was sad I had to work and miss seeing him off but Tyler did a great job getting me video and pictures!
I thought this picture was so cute. Brooklyn looks like she is giving him some tips for Preschool.
He was so excited. He walked straight up to the teacher and started talking to her. Tyler said he just went straight to class and never looked back.
His certificate for completing his first day!
I can't believe he is going to Preschool and that Brooklyn is going to Kindergarten. How are they old enough? It is crazy. I feel so blessed to be their mom.
